the first lead actually not that bad compared to other manhwa but the second lead is just too good to pass up lol!
tbh all the characters are shippable with each other I wouldn't mind anyone ending up with anyone.
cute fluff couple (woori x danwoo)
playboy turned whipped trope (taehan x danwoo)
hate to love (woori x yoonwoo)
"rivals" to lovers (yoonwoo x danwoo & taehan x woori)
potential toxic yaoi (taehan x yoonwoo)
the way they're both acting totally fits them to a T tbh. i prefer seeing them slowly be honest to each other rather than a sudden complete 180 just because they're dating, it's hard to let go of habits after all. especially hikaru tbh, he's way too used to lying to cover up his embarrassment so it'll definitely take some time. nin nin just isn't used to all the dating thing and ive actually seen people who don't feel it necessary to update what's happening to them irl. as said, both of them just really has different perspectives on dating. they'll get to a point where they'll freely depend on each other and be more honest eventually.
what makes it bearable is the miscommunication doesn't really lead to huge fights and they resolve it pretty quickly.
also thank you so much some anonymous asshole, hope your hand is okay
also this basically tells us that him being angry and grumpy is a conscious decision and not an innate/impulse reaction lol otherwise he would've also been like that when drunk
or is this another wack mingwa is writing
Maybe it has some truth to that but I remember watching alot of sad stories yk those write a secret and leave a secret and one of them said "the only time my father says I love you is when he's drunk" and like when someone is drunk they might show their true personality but I don't think it's scientifically proven yet.
Another theory is that remember when Dan was asleep on the table with his hand bleeding? Jaekyung was staring for a bit too long and clearly it means that he cared even for a bit? But then he shook those thoughts away because Jaekyung believes that having positive feelings makes you weak
huh so he's kinder when he's drunk, that's... opposite of what usually happens lol! maybe being drunk gets him off his guard? probably should make him drunk more often then
also ngl that was actually really cute lol
It's not scientifically proven yet but sometimes when a person gets drunk especially the ones with a light tolerance they completely change and their natural feelings show, Jaekyung is only rough because of his anger issues due to being a world champion fighter and its understandable cause of their nature
he definitely found the drugs... makes me wonder if he accidentally had intake some of it and caused the extreme hangover. hopefully not!
also i genuinely think ririko planned to set them up together that's why she made that her will tbh probably also thought meguru can learn a thing or two from them since they're probably the best option out of the bunch
also yeah kinda thinking the wakagashira is the father
can people share their interpretations of the ending? im so sad, i know the ending is open but i wanna know thoughts!
im glad kou wanted to go back to settle his feelings and all and that until the end shirou held that insecurity and thought that he was only loved because of kou's subconscious. it feels too real despite being a supernatural. it's the "replacement/substitute" topic handled well. but that's aalso why i wanted an actual close end to this, what was shirou gonna do? i know the open end is there to leave readers thinking... but i wanna settle my heart...
is shirou's job now finding the old man kou? but he died in the past so that's definitely not it! is he gonna opt for suicide? but kou said "live with me" so that's definitely not it right? or does the "live" mean "live on the other side with me"? or does it just mean that shirou will continue living alone but with the memories of kou with him? that's just.... really sad.
oh but there's the fact that "no one could confirm his body", but that could've also been kikujirou just being hopeful idk there's so many possibilities... the best one available to us would only be kou being alive after the war but being displaced very far and lost his memories (maybe also in coma but that's unrealistic) and only regained it after they parted at the end in chapter 11 and made peace with his past. then shirou's job was to find him and live with him with his last moments. it's still sad but it makes the most sense and the happiest ending we could get.
and also someone said this but i wanna reinforce. yes, although kou had good intentions going back to "settle" things, he essentially made the same mistake AGAIN: leaving shirou behind just like how he left kikujirou in the past. this is beyond sad.
though going back is of course the natural thing to do since he isn't from this time and he felt he had to face kikujirou in order to move on and face shirou properly but by that doing that he still hurts shirou in the end. ah, dilemma.
also yes, the ending being open isn't the best option here cause it's too open. though it has a charm to it, im sure we all wanna settle our hearts lol.
what actually makes this, and many others, frustrating is not because one character is acting asshole-ish. it's because these characters do shit without repercussions and their wrongdoings (albeit small) are being deemed normal and brushed off. it's what ticks me off the most.
im okay with characters doing even worse things but the author acknowledging it's bad so they could either have a character redemption or spiral down that hole (for plot reasons).
it's not just a case of "oh this character is just like that" and it's more "the author thinks this kind of thing is normal and cute" and i personally believe that's just bad writing tbh!

yall prepare yourselves already cause it's gonna be taehan endgame for sure got the cover art and event special twitter art (ex. the new year one) privilege
im sure author is building up for woori x yoonwoo. or maybe author can make alternative endings that woori x danwoo is just too cute to let go of or better yet a quad relationship indeed
