Yes that perception is really awful. I dislike how people (which I think majority are women or Fujo) symbolyze uke's as a girl. Uke means purity and I dislike that label.

It's not like all straight woman don't understand gay people. It's just that some straight woman thinks that there's only one dynamic in a gay relationship. Like there's only a "male"(top/seme) and "female"(bottom/uke). Another is that, some of them really adheres to stereotypes. Like how bottoms are thin and "weak" and tops are supposed to be mascular/line. I really can't completely blame them if they only knew gay people as portraid in fictional materials 'cause the author shares the blame on that. But come on, it doesn't validate their ignorance.

I really don't get the hate but, please explain.
I'm assuming that is because Kataoka was elected by kumichou to become wakagashira, while the son of the kumichou became senmu which is a lower rank than wakagashira. And when the kumichou dies, kataoka will be the leader of the group
What I meant was the hate that other readers have towards kataoka. Sorry I didn't made it clear.
Maybe cuz he killed a bird, but it seemed more like a mercy kill since it was already dying. Or maybe because he’s killed over 10 people, but Odajima also killed his whole family so... I’m not sure cuz I didn’t find that a particular problem. That seems within Yakuza standards
