I hate all the men to varying degrees (aside from redhead’s younger brother) but fuck the redhead leader in particular.
He kidnaps her in broad daylight, forces her back to his village, makes her to prove her identity to the village people OTHERWISE SHE’LL BE KILLED EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS BROUGHT THERE AGAINST HER WILL , promised to return her after she helps them out and then he breaks that promise and coerces her into a marriage with him with no regard for her feelings.
Fuck this man. The only thing I’m surprised about is that the pitfall trap was apparently not his (I skimmed the recent chapter because ugh). I fully expected that he set it because he’s going possessive and expected her to run.

An app that women download where it can gauge sexual interest and arrange sex dates if it’s high enough with no consequences. A bunch of short stories of women using the app and eventually ending up in a relationship. Whole it features them fucking a BUNCH of men, only short story 4 ends up in a true reverse harem, though it’s just by coincidence and honestly not that satisfying. Still hot though.

Iiiiiit’s… close enough. A bunch of short stories with female protagonists all centred around an app that can gauge men’s sexual interest and magically arrange sex dates with them with no consequences. The stories usually end with the user eventually ending up in a committed relationship. The app seems to get further developed with each woman. It’s not a GAME but it does have similar features like meeting options and dick ranking system.
God, finally! Progress. Ngl, I’ve been speed skimming these current chapters for stuff to happen. I want that poor other woman to leave her husband as soon as possible.
I’m expecting a relapse though. If this break up is typical, he’ll notice she’s sudden;h successful and making money and will lovebomb the shit out of her and promise to change. Which will then gove us one or two chapters of a pep talk then an official separation.
I now desperately wish we had a First-Timeline-Chapter like in Stepmother’s Marchen to watch the Royal family’s reactions of their little plot going wrong in the WORST WAY POSSIBLE. They just wanted to either slander or assassinate Yurien and they ended up wiping out their entire kingdom. That’s both tragic and hilarious.
Didn’t think there’d be a “your birth resulted in my wife’s death so I hate you” dad here, but they somehow managed to slip one in. I’m almost impressed.
I dunno what the kingdom thought would happen leaving their young semi-naive vulnerable princess with the world’s best and most coveted magic tool engineer who literally developed a nuke. Like, would you like a target on top of your target?
It’s so rare for me to NOT be instantly frustrated at a misunderstanding. I can’t even be mad at him for running down this train of thought because of the way it played out. I can’t blame her for not telling him because 1. She wants him to like her and 2. His rep is bad enough as it is. Being known for being married to s promiscuous woman would make it worse.
But I can’t be mad at him either because while she DOESN’T want to forget it, she is gonna act like it never happened, so what else is he supposed to think about it. He’s half right that she kinda wants to put that night behind her but for all the wrong reasons.
I just hope this isn’t dragged out ungodly long and she notices his wording that he doesn’t want to FORCE her to do anything unnecessary, especially considering the circumstances of how they ended up married im the first place.
What I find so comforting about this series is that while things happen, I have no need to greatly worry about it. Abby is perfectly capable of defending herself should physical harm fall on her, is quite knowledgable and a quick learner. She is also LOYAL AS FUCK and imperviously simple-minded, so I don’t gotta overly worry about manipulations and such. Anything she isn’t aware of, she will always wait to ask her husband and never makes assumptions.
As for the husband, he gets told off real fast about his initially treatment and comes to be his wife's biggest simp. He believes her on the Dark Lord stuff and there isn’t a long drag of “oh her dark lord stories are detailed fiction”. He loves her so sincerely for her and it just soothes my heartstrings.
I can always feel secure that no matter what happens, stuff will be resolved with minimal damage and angst. And I love seeing the little flashbacks of Abby’s Dark Lord form too. Just a misunderstood noodle.
It’s kinda slop and semi-boring. Our FL protagonist is a childcare worker who reads alot of fairytales to hr kids, particularly fairytales where the evil stepmothers die in order to achieve happily ever after. As she was putting away the book, they fall on her and she transmitigates into the body of a stepmother set to be queen.
There’s no sense of our protagonist knowing in advance what happens as she doesn’t know what story she’s in nor does it matter. As she knows is she’s following the usual trope; she’s a wicked stepmother with a young daughter that she mistreats.
What attempts to make this story stand out is that isekai’d people are an expected norm in this new world and the inhabitants HATE them. They fear them for their tendency of reformation, strange ideals and rapid invention which flips the economy of their world (going as far as to say they cause world annihilation and ruin) and are generally killed on the spot. So even though the FL doesn’t WANT to keep abusing the young princess, especially after learning she’s a very young mute child, she has to in order to stay in character and not get killed.
Of course, she doesn’t REALLY abuse the kid once she’s there. She speaks harshly and encourages rumours to keep her wicked reputation intact but fakes throwing food at the kid to get her to eat, takes her to a dress shop to get her dresses while yelling that she’s ugly and stops the maids from bullying the kid by saying she’ll bully her herself.
The pacing is a bit stilted and nothing much really happens in the first 12 chapters. The art is also pretty mid and the translations are passable but flow pretty monotonously.
The ML is whatever and I have a theory he’s also transmitigated and putting on a cold neglectful persona but I don’t care for him. Just as the OG!Villainess was a genuinely horrid woman, the ML is a terrible dad who has not lifted a finger to help his supposed kid. His right hand man says he’s actually a kind man and I think he’s already sussed out that our FL is isekai’d but that doesn’t change the fact that prior to her, he HASN’T HELPED HIS KID.
All and all, mind-numbing, inoffensive, boring.
I get that she has good intentions and she wants nothing more than to showcase her uncle who she clearly idolises even BEFORE the batting stream. But still, streaming him without his consent is still not cool.
Even in universe, there are rules against it on other people’s streams where they automatically block out his face. Her own friend has called her out on the fact this is a VERY shitty thing to do, especially to someone who has been nothing but good to her after she’s apparently had a hard time. Also the fact that the reason the uncle does this in the first place is because he gets frustrated not only from all the shitty people in the industry he works in, but also getting exploited by corrupt and overworked bosses. And now she’s doing the same; exploiting him for her own self-satisfaction.
Batting in dungeons is one of the few aspects he has left where he still has any semblance of control and she’s taken it away from him for MONEY. Of course when it comes out, he’ll inevitably still be doing it because there’s no way to come back at this point and the money is definitely good, whether uncle cared for it or not, but I hope the niece gets SOME consequences.
Because they think the other deserves to exist more than themselves. They value each other so damn much and I CAN’T STAND WHAT IT’S DOING TO MY HEARTSTRINGS. AHHHHHH
I love the little joke doodles the artist always adds at the end of the chapter.
I couldn’t wait and read the entire webnovel which you can find here:
https://americanfaux.com/completed-translations/now-that-im-dead-are-you-satisfied/
It was a rather easy read, aside from Day 1 which I felt dragged way too long. I don’t blame it for being like that though, since Day 1 is alot of set up.
I enjoyed the karma which came for what it is. It might vary for you whether everyone gets what they fully deserve. Some got more extreme punishments than others. For example, the dad goes to jail while the prince gets disowned as royalty, demoted to a count with debt, banished to another land and made a royal vassal, but otherwise still healthy and still in a decently high position. And I don’t think the mother got a good enough punishment to be honest.
Surprisingly, only one person manages to redeem themselves and that’s the merchant Lorona was working with, who managed to get his head out of his ass halfway through and only lost half his earnings nearly hastily taking a shady deal but otherwise ended up fine and remorseful.
And speaking of remorse, some of the characters actually feel REMORSE. There is a flavour of horrid characters being so self absorbed that they don’t realise why everything is going wrong. But in the novel at least, some of them actually realise their ruin was nothing but the sum of their choices.
To be honest, I am torn with the Prince and Lorona getting together. At the end of the novel when the prince and her family accountant find Lorona alive, the Prince tells Lorona that everyone moved on and that it’s better to not reveal herself back home otherwise she’ll disrupt their adjusted lives. It’s a white lie with good-ish intentions because he knows that Lorona is the type to try and save a sinking ship like she always has. But other comments say that it’s scummy of him because that takes away some of Lorona’s control to make a decision entirely on her own, especially with the way he frames it in his head; he knows eventually Lorona will find out anyway the truth of how everyone took her death but thinks by the time she finds out, he would’ve “made her his” and it wouldn’t matter anymore. But some like a good-intentioned manipulator, so take it how you will.
Either way, good read, good time. Satisfied,
The main character ragging on the OG!ML for dating the girls is getting old because from Blondie’s perspective, he’s not. He’s just dating in his own age-range.
Dude needs to realise that HE’S the anomaly here.
The fact she physically cannot harm humans directly makes me worry the story is gonna fall into the “tame a villain(ess)” trope. Where they basically suppress an enemy’s murderous tendencies and bond through hijinks. Nah bro, you better kill the bitch. You DESPERATELY need the days. Don’t fall for how hot she is.
Looks like the end of chapter 71 got messed up and duplicated. I went to Magustoon to read it there. It basically ends with him saying the dress is beautiful with the SLIGHTEST hint of blush
I just wanna get my thoughts out here in what I managed to read about this series.
I had just finished reading about the knight’s revenge and honestly, I just feel really sad and detached. Like I don’t mind that Musee doesn’t forgive him. She died to him, after all. But I feel like the story wasted his set up after they did nothing significant with it.
This knight truly was honorable in character. So much so that the white lotus had to use more brainwashing on him than usual and even then, the knight knew instinctively to try and avoid the FL because HE REALLY DIDN’T WANT TO HURT HER, whether he believed the accusations or not.
And they just did him in with the same savagery as the first dude who has a human trafficking business.
Like I can’t help but feel it isn’t fair?
I find it hard to be invested in this revenge not just because of the brainwashing aspect which muddies the water a bit, but ultimately isn’t a deal breaker (first guy had that business BEFORE the brainwashing after all. Maybe the remaining guys were also pieces of shit before getting brainwashed), but because the FL also just… doesn’t really care? She was never going to forgive them whether they get maimed or not and every comment I see says she just lets the dragon do revenge for her BECAUSE HE HAS FUN WITH IT. She’s not invested at all.
And I get that the trauma of 4 deaths can numb a person. But I immediately felt iffy when it’s revealed the white lotus is actually a POSSESSED white lotus and the OG!FL’s soul was sold to prostitution WAAAY before even meeting the FL. But the FL doesn’t give a shit. She doesn’t even switch names for who is the true culprit for all her suffering.
As well as seeing shitty people get their karma, I also read these to feel catharsis for the FL’s sake so if she isn’t attached to it then neither am I.
About time the family became relevant again after the allergic reaction fiasco… but is this the way they are going to start trying to make it up to her? It’s a little much
FL - Oh, he came to my place in the middle of the night at an ungodly hour to beg me not to leave, tended to me all night while I was sick and then retracted his begging for my sake… probably because he wants something from me.
I HATE THIS SHIT. IT NEVER DIES. IT’S THE PITFALL SO MANY WORKAHOLIC FLS FALL INTO.
