There are often transmitigation stories of the OG!character’s shitty parents and how they try to make them sympathetic out of trauma and they are just misunderstood. But not here. This dad has remained an asshole for over 100 chapters. And MAYBE he cares, just a smidge. Through whatever wiggle room he has on his supposedly limited life and the trauma of failing to protect his wife. But there’s no fixing relationships. No misunderstandings. Both the dad and Nox accept this is how it is and always will be.
Of course, there’s the fact that OUR Nox cannot remember the feelings that fractured the OG’s relationship, which is somewhat unsatisfying. But it’s okay but you can tell it wouldn’t have mattered much in the end.
I am FASCINATED by the fact that he sent an assassin to a maid that he poached from his ego-bruising puppy crush to work at his bakery for betrayal. A bakery that he only establishes to show off his privileged power-wealth dick to said crush, where he acknowledges it would’ve failed anyway without the maid’s sabotage because he’s a shit business owner and didn’t accomodate his menu for the community he was selling to.
His ego is THAT fragile that he was gonna bonk off a maid over what was essentially a pass time for him. He’s truly a piece of shit.
The format makes me think of the villainess anthology so I’m wondering if it’s from the same publishing group. Somehow, the Saintess version is less satisfying that the villainess anthology since the Saintess side requires alot more political world building and therefore the karma that comes afterwards feels too short. It’s still a fun enough time though seeing all these stupid kingdoms fall apart without their saintess. The one where the protective barrier broke once the Saintess stopped caring for the kingdom and the other with the Saintess who “devours” evil are pretty satisfying.
All that build up, all the abuse flashbacks we had to sit through, how much it made my blood seethe and THAT’s the karma we get? Her stepsister is awful and her ex-fiance literally had a saviour complex and then ditched her to die after he fucked up. But we get their punishment as a time skip.
The more I read about this world, the more I can’t help but think that while the ML is pulling me around to thinking he’s actually a good man (all the things he did at the start aside), he’s… kinda starting to feel like a shit ruler. Is that just me?
The ML is obviously gonna be the silver-haired bread-obsessed Duke but man, WHAT ABOUT HER BUSINESS PARTNER WHO IS WITH HER MORE?
The isekai aspect is barely dived into. We cleared the FL’s fake reputation but don’t see the fall out on the impressions from her family nor after it was publicized and what she thinks of it. We haven’t seen her little sister since. The actual ML is just there and now suddenly there are these two new dudes working at her store? I know they were her guards briefly shown protecting her place when she had to close that one time but there was no build up to them being even main side stays. I feel like I’m hopping around this story with barely any connecting
Maria giving that nerdy obsessive dude a make-shift festival activity is actually a little cute. Even if her vibe is very much off XD
Shows she still has her maternal instincts buried SOMEWHERE in her poor shattered heart.

The first chapter practically reveals she’s gonna marry 30 men but I doubt they’ll go into depth on all of them.
FL escaped an abusive false-romantic political marriage she was isekai’d into and fell into a village of hot elves who will dote on her hand and foot. She’s a bit of an (understandable) downer and tends to flip flop a bit on her choices, as far as I read. The men are green flags though. Nothing too remarkable, read if you want smut. And skip the abusive flashbacks to stay not angry.
Poor Helka getting shit for trying to find a way to bring the FL back to Korea XD Like, the last time they spoke while lucid, she was desperately clutching his robe and practically SCREAMING at him about interdimensional travel. So he leaves for a week to solve exactly that, comes back, and then has this girl question him why he did that and Tevon calling him insensitive. He just can’t win.
That’s all Frang gets? I wanted a bit more than that but oh well. Having his rep shattered, party essentially disbanded, left unhireable and stuck with a jank build is a decent enough karma.
I can’t tell if he passed out from rage, a heart attack or he was somehow poisoned.
Also, what is he mad about? XD I mean, this is partially what he asked for. He told Maria to butter the police up after the fake bomb stunt, even if she had to use her body (even if Maria is actually being genuine but he doesn’t need to know that). It’s kinda too late to be jealous, my guy.
The way the plot is DRAGGING ITS FEET in terms of making Hazel’s public reputation improve is pulling me away a little. Like yes, nobles aren’t gonna give a shit about plants. But again, this girl cured a LONG-THOUGHT INCURABLE DISEASE. She has also hosted a successful workshop and had the little framing incident cleared. Why has this not made even a dent in public opinion?
Now we anxious wait for the next chapter where they go home and RIP JANK BUILD MAN APART.
