It was a “sweet” scene and all but “I promise not to frighten you any longer” is not an apology. Not that I was expecting one, he’s not the type to verbally admit a wrongdoing especially to a “commoner” but he blew his chance this chapter.
Now all he can do is show he’s sorry through actions....... wait, that’s actually going to be pretty good..... bring it!

So this came to me today.
What if the Father is working undercover to get his wife’s body back? The family don’t know of course, then at the end he and Kyoichiro are fighting and son deals dad a death blow (or he get killed saving family) and thats when the dad tells him the truth of what he’s doing.
Reckon that’ll be a bit of a tear jerker.

I’m probably late to the party but i just did re-read through for the first time.
There’s a scene in a chapter where Wang complains that Reiji for interrupted him from raping Yuki.
We flash back to a previous scene that we read when was Wang bargaining (blackmailing) Yuki to work for him and then the sleezebag leans - scene is cut off.
The scene then continues in the other chapter and Reiji came in saying there was an urgent matter for Wang to attend to before the creep could go further with Yuki.
Now this all happens before we, as the readers, know about Reiji’s family ties. The author plays it off as nothing really. We just all breath a collective sigh of relief that the kid was spared and move on.
Knowing what we know after with all the backstory and this chapter where in a flash back Wang tells him about Yuki and his plans for him, we see Reiji react slightly. So he knew about Yuki before Wang took him.
It shows a whole new side of Reiji. He’d do anything for his revenge but there’s a line even he won’t cross for it. He most likely added “Protect Yuki with blowing cover” right next to his other plans.
The upcoming revel to this will be cool and i love the author’s foreshadowing.
Wow, this was long. Feel free to let me know what you think (or if you worked this out already haha)

Well I think Reiji does all of this to revenge his family. Yuki is after all his nephew (?) and therefore he wants to protect/save him. Also he might feel guilty because he couldn't help him before and Yuki had to go through so much due to that... I like how every character just has his own interesting background story and every time you think you did understand why a character did what he did a new piece of information is revealed and adds something new to the whole story.

I like to think that too. He’s definitely after revenge for his half brother’s (Yuki’s dad) murder by the creep. I’m not sure if he knew Yuki was even alive or around until Wang mentioned him. The author did a good job with that actually, you see the shock in one eye then you don’t see his full face again during that flash back, only a disgusted scowl as Wang talks about his nephew.
He’s very goal oriented atm, focused on revenge on a broader scale. Right now he’s chilling on a roof watching his plans line up. But i think when all said and done, he’s going to remember who he was with Yuki and his half brother and start to heal a bit
On another note, I’m not entirely sure who those blokes that showed up at the clinic to nab Yuki work for if Wang’s been taken out. They still could be his guys and he’d threaten to hurt Yuki or something if he doesn’t get his way.
I love how the author has everyone connected. One person’s actions affect another and that person reacts in kind. A domino effect. And the past come back to haunt them
That bratty penis, eh I mean prince, is giving off serious Joffrey vibes.
Let us hope he goes out the same way.....
