Yes. Because he had a flashback of his parents dying young and so he panicked.
I would've liked this more read in continuity with the story. I was hoping this would be a cute extra of them being a couple, or something smutty. Oh well, I loved this manga so I guess something is better than nothing!

I would hate the boss less in this last chapter if he had some kind of excuse for what he did to Shinobe. I want to see him suffer WAY more than this! I want his heart crushed and him feeling at least the amount of hurt that Shinobe felt. Instead he's fucking other guys and wondering why he's not happy as a clam. UGH.

I really loved this manga but I realized that I read this sequel before the first manga. Then after reading the first I realized the first story seems to have more relationship progress! Weird. But that hug at the end of Ch 7.... AWWWW, I loved it.
