Thank God for this "balanced" review. E eyeone is just dissing YR but what evidence was given that NE was strung along? That he didn't give an answer? Idk maybe he just wants to keep their friendship and not break it by saying no, let's just be friends. Who knows. And NE is the one hanging on and not, like you said, set boundaries. I have t read the raws but his concept of "when to let go" and "how to let go" is like, what?!? Ok, so you yourself decided to "let go" after 17 frigging years. You, yourself. You had to "ask permission" to let go. You had to ask, for 17 years, if your friend can like you back. The word is "can". Not whether he wants to or no. Ppl are upset YR sleeps with other ppl, I mean, he has his own sexual/romantic life. NE could, at any point in time, have moved on. Ppl are pissed at YR for stringing him along. I'm sure he was thrilled with the attn and love he got, but as farbas stringing him along, there's not enough proof of that to say he's intentionally doing it, but that NE gave him that power, or NE took away his own faculty in that respect. And he could "only let go if they have sex the one time". So in essence he tried to coax YR into an answer 1) what of YR then refuses him flatly? 2) what if YR then sleeps with him? The answer is still, "I'm going to let him/this romantic attachment to him go". So it wasn't like, oh boohoo hoo. He flirts with me and now he took advantage of me knowing my feelings for him. First of all, if YR was sober it wouldn't have happened. But then why would he have done it when he was drunk either? Was he actually attracted to his friend? Was he feeling sorry? What was his motive?!? We don't know. We only know NE did it to have that one last bit of him "in order to let go". So you had to rope him into a physical one-night stand just to move on". Ppl are saying YR is a dick but didn't check the rearview mirror regarding NE's own motivations and actions.

And who in their right mind hangs on to someone for that long.

NE was never like, hey, u know what I'm gonna move on with my life (without the sex) and gonna see what happens. IF THAT happens then yeah, sure. We can see if YR is being manipulative to keep hanging onto his friend's love or not. But NE never initiated that, til now. AFTER the whole sex capade.

NE nevere distance himself before

This comic is reminiscent of another one about a lawyer and a pilot. Same plot, long-ass long-term unrequited love. Love interest never confessed. Couldn't handle his friend's impending marriage and just took off to another country half-way across the world, went radio silent. Meanwhile, the friend was like, why did you disappear and then chased after him half way around the world. The rest is blah blah blah. I didn't follow up on it.

I mean a manipulator is far worse than someone who has no emotional intelligence and is genuinely stupid.
