Firstly, the art is a bit stiff. Secondly, they are all cringe. Thirdly, what's up with their hair?. Like why is everyone so CRINGE?, I was waiting for that part where she would sing but DAMN, this is cringe, even her husband's reaction is cringe. What's up witth the sudden obssesion. He really said " Sing Just For me", she's not charismatic at all. I want to drop this but I'm hoping for a change, making this less cringe
The most hurtful thing I had seen in this arc is how bad the artist drew black people, like bro, they look like fucking monkeys. you can clearly see the difference in art between the black characters and the others, they look so ugly
Right, like I don't even know why people are trying to make excuses for this shit. It's so apparent that you don't even have to read it. I honestly thought people learned this in their early literature classes, that if something looks ugly the writer wants to show how bad it is. Like geez this author and artist must really hate black people to make it so obvious like that.
I know right, like the hate must be unbearable for them to represent an entire race like that, it's not just him, most manhwas/mangas/manhuas I have read always fail to represent black people, without drawing them a little uglier than the others, with enormous lips. I always thought it was because they were not familiar drawing them, but now I realise that it was just racism, I don't understand why they would insult a whole race like that, it's better to just not draw them in their manhwas, if they are going to do things like these. It arrived at a point where when I find a manhwa with a well-drawn black character, I would be so glad as if... it was not originally supposed to be well-drawn
Honestly though. Since Korea, Japan, China etc. are such xenophobic & homogenous countries in general it might come to a lot of authors even if they're trying not to be racist. That doesn't make it okay though, of course. I get your point though, like I get a little happy even when people from other cultures/races are drawn inaccurately, because hey at least they're actually being shown. But it just shows how much bad representation there is out there, and unfortunately it's lowered our standards :/
