You mean just like real history? Hell, at least the author isn't romanticizing it, he's showing its consequences like with Leo's trauma. It's a historical fantasy piece and history, from the loads that I learned, is a lot darker than anything someone can write up.

np, I can see where you are coming from though with how much soft rape is romanticized in manga. But I can say for a fact the author has not, he made it quite disturbing and Leo has a lot of trauma around it, which I wish more mangas would delve into but that doesn't have audience appeal so they don't talk about the psychological trauma very much.
