Ok this is strictly my opinion. First of all I am a huge red flag top lover. I enjoy it a bit too much and toxicity etc is my cup of tea. But I only enjoy this when it's well written and characters are well developed. I absolutely despise the naive uke trope. So I am pretty sure you might have an idea where this is going. I enjoyed the story. Especially the start. It was intriguing and I wanted to know who chaheon actually was. In the middle it kind of started to go downhill because it was quite obvious who narye was. The character development was invisible throughout the manhwa. I couldn't feel any kind of sympathy for anyone here not even for the uke. The end was well bittersweet but not so much because the naive uke is not going to know that it's narye because he is just THAT fucking naive. He is a damsel in distress and I am not a fan of that either. I think I would have enjoyed this way better if the plot wasn't only rape, obsession and manipulation. But I guess that's what it was meant to be and it's my fault for expecting more. Anyways at the end of the day I think the characters are quite bland, the plot is not well developed and the ending is quite ass too. It's also my fault for expecting more from a story which I had already figured out from chapter 10 itself lol.
Same. I love red flags some but this is too much. The problem is the imbalance of sufferings. The same put uke through hell, torture, completely broke him and chased after him even after death.
The top on the other hand faced no real consequences for his actions. He did whatever he wanted, got angry uke didn't feel like he wanted, threw a tantrum when he died and then got rewarded by reuniting in the end.
You can't have an happy ending where they end up together without ruining the plot. The ending we got is objectively a bad ending for MC, he is back in the same old abusive relationship with his abuser. And no matter how sweet someone is, if it's an act, the mask will eventually slip. And every slip-up accumulate until the victim pieces together the truth.
To avoid this problem the author had no other choice but to make MC unrealistically naïve, oblivious and meek. Which ultimately makes him bland and dumb.
In conclusion if you want to make something as violent and dark as this story is, you have to commit to the end. Either by making an unambiguously bad ending where it end how it started with both characters ending miserable or by making an actual good ending where MC free himself from his abuser and get to live his own life.
Because I'm sorry, but you don't come back from this kind of abuse, the relationship is as dead and buried than their first bodies.
Dude the sex scenes are just so sad to see. Idk I like that author made the seme bad at sex but too much time has passed to be still bad at sex like at least show some improvement. Recent sidestory showing him thinking about doing no foreplay and just ramming it in??? Like what. The sex scenes look so selfish and catered towards the top it's genuinely just sad for seonwoo. Seonwoo always looks like he is fighting for his life when they fuck. Maybe honestly I am spoilt by the seme in Neighbors rice cake. I have never seen such a non selfish top during sex. Oh well.I hope the author gets well. Whatever she is going through seems painful as fuck.
