Fl does give pick me vibes in the beginning but, do force yourself to read it. Cuz, she's not annoying like a pick me!
Fl tries her best & unlike the other female leads who want to run away from the villain. Fl wants to actually stay with the ml & tries to make their relationship work. In that aspect it's refreshing.
But yeah, keep this in mind that, this fl is a sheltered lady, both in this life & her previous. So her "naivety" can get under your nerves but, she's not bad.
Also, the ml is better than many. He's neither "emotional intelligence of a teaspoon", nor he's the obsessive, creepy type. He's starts with " I understand my feelings but, unfortunately I only have one facial expression ", but does improve as the story goes on

When I first found it (last year) I dropped it at the first chapter because tell me if "I read this book 50 times OwO is that not normal??" not give you pick me vibes? Also the way she is drawn while reading the original book is so cringe girl it's a romance book?? If the original was a horror story I would totally understand but its a fing romance book??? (And her crying because of a cat as well like what cmon?? I will look past that tho because she was little) But just her monologue being like I'm a weakhearted girl I'm scared of everything made my skin crawl ( ￣--￣||) BUT this year I read until the released chapters and liked it which was why I wrote it is still a cute story.

It's been a long time since I enjoyed reading a manhua without getting mad at logic, characters, grape...etc. The art is pretty as well, no glaringly wrong anatomical mistakes. Uh.. the only thing I can't figure out is why she left her pupils without a farewell but I hope there's a good explanation. If not oh well another ruined one. (Ch.44)
I think it was explained a chapter or two ago. She probably very much expected them (or at least Benjamin, as she acknowledged how antsy he’d be in chapter 1 or so) to basically follow her all the way there if she gave any indication of leaving. Considering how much they care about her and no one else there and their general personalities and protectiveness, they’d probably do something to ruin her plans (unintentionally). It’d be like setting off a grenade in a china shop. Its also because she knows they’d involve themselves regardless of if she doesnt want them to
Also i think its probably her guilt about how bad the ending of that book was and how she feels she caused it. The mages likely weren’t really present in the book and shes probably worried of exposing characters she cared for for years (who would likely be unaffected by the story’s bloodshed and chaos) to something dangerous
