Just done reading raws although I didn't understand Mandarin but I am glad I took a peek. This has beautiful ending for all characters, especially main. Beautiful emotional rollercaster. Definitely want to re-read this once it's ended.

First time I've read this I was highschooler and this one left me depressed for quite sometimes. I didn't read any shoujo anymore until I graduated from college. I know this end with an happy ending but not enough to wash years of sadness away. All characters are very well written. The story is PERFECT but painful. Every time the train scene came I remember I was on the edge. Every single time.
I am 35 years old now and after re-read this one again...
Gosh, this is still physically painful.
Season 2 is a pure torture for me rooting for Ian/MC, so it's time to drop this one. It's crazy to think author goes 180° after the epic season 1 with Ian as MC, only to witness season 2 disaster about his past life and identity he don't even remember! So unfair.

I like their dynamic! So far I can see how love starts to bloom slowly and both keeping it low key is sending me to ahfjfjkgkg. MC is cutie and master of yapping lol ML is tsundere.
Tbh I like the novel. It was intense, sad, pathetic but still beautiful. At the end of the day despite how crazy Matthias can be, he loves his Layla. He turn the world upside down, destroy it, rebuild it again only for Layla. Toxic as he can get, but it is what it is.
This novel is one of many tragedy in romance that we as readers can't do anything but to see their relationship blooms despite how much we dislike Matthias. And I like that.
Note : there will be non-consensual acts in the future and it will be cruel for Layla. For folks who can't take it maybe need to drop this soon before getting hooked.
At this point Idk anymore about the drama, I just want to see main couple happily ever after with their child. Can not for that!
