No, no he doesn't love "the idea of her", he loves her, but he's aromantic so his love is not romantic, it's just his way of loving. His crime is not telling yumin what he really is even after dated her for 6 years. But he really does love her, not what yumin expects him to, but that just how he is. I googled what aromantic is and the descriptions match his explanation and behavior.
