OMG the symbolism was literally everywhere, I could literally see the plot from miles away, I never even trusted Tod in the first place like look at his eyes it's soulless. I took that old man's word to heart.
Ugh than moment was perfect, the tension was insane, I loved the slightly dommy/subby dynamic building... But no! We had to waste it like that. Author, WHY????????
