Yeah she’s not perfect, but she’s a normal person dealing with an insane situation. She came up with that lie out of fear for her life. I’m not saying she hasn’t made obvious mistakes or things that are emotionally hurtful to him, but she is operating with the awareness that her lies could easily be discovered. She’s not a master spy, so she’s not great at spinning a web of lies. She is still uncomfortable with him since he did threaten her life when they first met, and when he woke up. On top of that, she’s being threatened by his brother as well. She can’t leave because of the brother. I really feel like she’s doing her best, but she misses obvious things because she’s still thinking of him as a threat while he’s thinking of her as a companion
