anyways, time to unpack! TLDR of this manhua: mc is a dual guide-esper who's hiding his true S rank, meanwhile ml is a lab grown S rank esper and yes, they knew each other as kids (how cliché, but we eat it up every time regardless loll)
my minds a bit of a mess rn (thanks migraine) so ima just jot down my thoughts in any ol' order:

2. I LOVE THE MC!!! Hes strong, outspoken, cunning and cute at the same time—the perfect counter to the arrogant, emotionally constipated, selfish asshole-y ml (who is also a certified hottie
(ugh i just love raven-haired fictional men) If youre tired of crybaby, damsel-in-distress guide characters then rest assured because our mc is NOT one of them(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
3. speaking of, the ml is imo a greenish-gray flag, like hes not as diabolical as some tops ive seen in bl, but hes not a forest if youre okay with some red-flags (like coercion, bad temper, homicidal/destructive & jealous behaviour etc) then go ahead, if not then perhaps rethink reading. he does get character development though (yay!) but other than that hes your typical possessive seme (￣∇￣)
4. that girl rocelle or whatever–mls ex-fiancée seriously gets of my nerves. i think shes borderline mentally unwell because the ml clearly doesnt like her & outright rejects her at every opportunity, but she still guns for him! even purchasing their old house like an obsessed ex— wait...she IS an obsessed ex lol. anyways, she pmo real hard— she needs to get a grip asap!!!
5. in terms of the plot, i fw it a lot! in order to not spoil a lot, im just gonna say i didnt see some things coming but i kinda guessed the dad plot (ifykyk) and everyone knows the cliché "met each other as kids" backstory lol so that didnt take too long to figure out
tbh thats all that i can think of to talk about rn... might reply to this if i think of anything else. OVERALL: not too bad i actually quite like this even though guideverse isnt my fav–ima give it a solid 7.5-8/10! (btw, is it just me or did the art improve as the chapters went on?)

damn this shit was so good, 10/10 characters, art, smut, plot, relationship literally everything about this i love. when i first started reading this i was taken aback a little because i honestly thought this was a western comic (the layout baited me lolol) and not a korean manhwa until i saw the raws. im not complaining tho, imo it makes this manhwa more unique(^○^)
kyle is a fucking hottie (i know you, me, WE were all thinking this, dont fucking lie) so i understand why helen is kind of hung up on him still, but she got on my nerves a lil for trying to separate him & ilyan allll the time. dont get me wrong shes a girlboss, but omd is she such a boomer sometimes and dont even get me STARTED on her husband, or ex-husband i should say, james motherfucking taylor – sorry, JAMES BROWN. lord i knew he had issues but the fact that he also stalked ilyans father? gtfo and GO TO THERAPY or even better JUST DIE (ಠ_ಠ). he was so fucking annoying and creepy and im so happy helen divorced his sorry stalking ass. oooh if i was helen i wouldve ran him over in my rolls royce as soon as he non-con kissed ilyan in front of everyone and the statue (￣Д￣)
+ ilyans character development is just . like im a sucker for bratty bottom x caring top and other variations (im talking about disasters x has their life together pairs lol) and gyatt fucking damn it kyle worked some magic with ilyan like he went from barely being able to say the words "sorry" to leaning on kyle for support, apologising to chris for being an ass even offering to pay his sisters medical bills ! also i love that him and all the models bonded over hating on james, fucking hell he is such a loser -_-
& i love how the manhwa accurately portrayed the affects the childhood abuse ilyan went through on his adult self, from his crippling alcoholism to his insecurities & anxiety disorder and his tendency to hurt people & act nasty as a defense mechanism, and i love that despite all that kyle loved him and was willing to support him through all that, even scolding himself for not realising earlier just how worryingly dependent ilyan is on alcohol. i love that the manhwa didnt portray sobriety as an easy journey, really highlighting ilyans addiction and how quitting isnt all sunshine and rainbows – ilyan was hospitalised from alcohol withdrawal for fucks sake;; my poor reckless disaster baby (◞‸◟)
which btw, i HATE his father so SO SOOOO much. from being a LITERAL CHILD ABUSER to TRYING TO GIVE ALCOHOL TO ILYAN, THE RECOVERING ADDICT, AND CAUSING HIM TO RELAPSE. im proud of ilyan for not drinking it, but it broke my heart to see him in the bathtub of alcohol showing that old habits really do die hard. he has some insane self control at that point to be surrounded by the one thing he loved all his life and not take a sip (although he still got drunk cos the alcohol got absorbed through his skin but baby steps ig?) imo his father got off so light like wym hes gone into hiding with his daughter??? if it was up to me.... ITS ON SIGHT(ಠ_ಠ) tbh im happy he didnt reconcile with ilyan, in my eyes hes irredeemable. what father gets his 7 yo hooked on alcohol and admitted into rehab just to get away from him???? hes srsly fucked up. and it pmo that he actually acts as a father to his other daughter after having neglected ilyan all his life – even in adulthood hes an ass. god what a prick. id also run him over 100% (-_-๑)

anyways, 10/10 so far from what i read & can remember lol
