bro this and the last chap made me so uncomfortable. and that sucks because I was so excited for the proposal. like yes, ash is way better than other mcs but that doesnt mean what he did had no problems or red flags. because its fiction we can wave it away and say they are getting married and happy but if this was real, this would absolutely be fucked up. I feel like some people (including myself) are analyzing it from a real world point of view where there are quite a bit of things that could have been done better with the introduction of bdsm to their relationship instead of a yaoi view. but of course this is fiction and its way better than others as they actually have a safe word and stuff. 1. the safeword is "honey" which he knows that lyle is uncomfortable saying = less likely to safe word out when needed
2. they clearly didn't have an in-depth talk about boundaries and limits before starting. lyle honestly seems so confused about what's happening, which is NOT good.
3. their first introduction to bdsm is punishing lyle for something they never agreed was a punishable act??? like ash is doing this just to try and get lyle to tell him something he doesn't want to tell him. like, literally pressuring him.
4. when he told lyle earlier that he would let him down once he kissed his cheek and then didn't and then required a second one. = lyle cant fully trust ash to honor his safe word.
