Ok, this one had a really good first act. The mystery about what Ian was, the deaths, everything was nice and interesting. But them it changed.
Kate become so fucking dumb and naive, even more after she earned some money, it seems like her brain doesn't know how to work anymore, just look at the recently poison incident! Why would she ask who would do that? When the Hogans tried to kidnap, force her to a marriage and possible even rape her, of course they would be at a fault. But her bird brain cant come with this possibility.
Also, I know she cares for the Elf opinion, but she's letting him dictate her whole life without that much of a fight.
And the whole romance aspect? It's so fucking bland, it's been what? 30-40 chapters with both leads clearly in love with each other, but not doing anything because the other doesn't do anything either? At this point, I would rather Kate's engaged with whorever the Elf chooses, and Ian IDK, finding another maid or low rank noble like him.
It's so painful to read it, and I know it's nowhere near the end.
And no, this shit is not a slow burn, it's just poorly executed with lack of communication between the leads.

You're not wrong ab how Kate kinda got more naive but I think that may be due to her utter lack of worldly experience. I mean honestly she spent her whole life at one house then that all got torn away so she would have no idea of what's outside that. As for the Hogan stuff I got no arguments there. How poison is a shock is beyond me. But I think the romance aspect makes a little sense since Ian's never had anything or anyone and neither has Kate. Neither of them know anything.

I-I.... This is all over the place, I really dont know what to think about this one... like, there's so much going on and I kinda dislike everyone except for the sister? I couldn't care less about the main characters and their love, but I guess, you can pass time reading it if you want.
If you are in for the smut, welcome, this is you home. Because this has no plot nor originality .

I really hope Yvona saves the new shadow, why the fuck would they be enemies? I really wish she can knock sense into that black haired woman.

Yea, the black haired lady not helping Gaspal for the same stupid reasons that the maid and past Yvona are (lOvE), but because her situation is so dire and bad, that Gaspal is offering her "salvation" if she works for him. I really do hope she can be saved and redeemed and that the author doesn't just make her some 1-dimensional twit who gets stuck burning with Gaspal when he inevitably gets his ass handed to him
For fuck sake, don't scare us like that. I was shocked thinking he had died, how can you do something so despicable as this.
