Basically she's a double agent. She gives bits and pieces to the queen to maintain the facade, but leaves out crucial pieces of information when necessary. Of course if she's on the spot she might have to give up information she doesn't want to reveal to make sure she's not exposed. But as said, overall she's working for the prince. #DOUBLE AGENT

It took me 9 chapters in to give this story a verdict. The answer wound up being love. I wholeheartedly fell head over heels for this gem. My soul blesses the author for making this story.
