Why? It is okay but fl is too smart and successful for someone raised like a wallflower. So i personally am a bit disappointed: her husband suddenly has tonns of gold (veeeeery realistic:), fl has zero and still marries ml. It happens: to prove a point or punish her arogant ass but in a day he is already deeply in love and showers her with affection and riches. And she succeeds against her power experienced mother: this young spoilt chick?! How? By batting pretty eyelashes? Sorry , i see no reason to obsess here

Well i like the story, everyone has different taste yk :)

ML is a well know mercenaries even before he became a hero of the empire ofc he has tons of money.

And yk love at first sight exist right? ML has it too and somehow it turns into obsession, the thought he cant have her make him hates her (It's before their marriage) idk what you call it if it aint an obsession, but at last It's not severe to the pont he wanted to lock her lol

And for FL is a spoilt chick....i kinda have different prespective— FL aint a spoilt brat just because she came from a very wealthy family. Her mother is a wicked women who use her own daughters to gain fame and money, idk why you have a thought fl is a spoiled kid when her mother literally like that........ FL has been exposed to her mother true nature and world from such a young age, ofc she MUST know how the world works.

Then again, everyone has different taste. I prefer this one over some girl that had been locked up in the abandoned tower for ages suddenly became a swordmaster lol

The fl wasn't raised like a wallflower, she was raised to be smart but PRETEND to be a wallflower, so as to manipulate men and exploit them for her own business ventures. She was a cutthroat business expert but hide it so she could attract the most powerful investor in the only way a woman could in those times: marriage. And the ML having money isn't strange in a society where rich commoners are still struggling to to take the reins of society out of the nobles' hands, in a society still controlled by the nobles: in such a society, money doesn't mean much because true power is still only in the hands of those with noble titles (the higher the title, the better) and through connections TO nobles.

Well, not as in real life, but that story refuses to follow its own logic....

It never ever worked this way: nobles had power and dominates because they had their own military power and having money as a commoner OR noble without strong military ment extortion by force of knights of a noble who did. Justifications were sought or made up as needed: treason, crime of any kind and ...there go your money. And could you specify the chapter and the panel were we learn of the fl's outstanding skill? Please don't take it as agression: i am curious since i cannot recollect and not hot enough about it to re-read the whole thing...

I see your point but seeing a smart/ evil/ manipulative or any other kind of person does not automatically mean you gain their skill - otherwise all children of rich successful people would be able to earn fame and fortune easily but it is sadly not so.

In response to your question at the end: it's in chapter 8. We get the fl's pov: "Be a lady who will NOT end up as an ornament, no matter where or when. That is mother's notion. That's why she gave me a thorough education in history, politics, the arts, and foreign languages throughout my childhood. She may take away everything that I possess or wear, but she can't take away what I have inside my head." Later on, her dealings with the ML's butler make it obvious her education also included economics and trade, since she knows where products come from and how much they cost, etc, etc. The ML told her she was "quite knowledgeable" in chapter 24, and she asked "did you just realize"?

So there you have it, her mother did NOT want her to be a wallflower, no matter how much she pampered her. Moreover, it's obvious she even wants to live vicariously through her youngest daughter, making the FL obtain the "success" she thinks she herself deserves. It's clear her mother chose her among her sisters to be her "spiritual" succesor" the one who would not only reach the highest possible position in society in her mother's stead, but who would also be able to "keep" it, as well. Given her mother's own husband, the girls' father, died leaving them without a penny, it's obvious her mom doesn't trust men's abilities to safeguard their family's wealth, so even though the men are needed as husbands who will provide resources to the family, she doesn't believe in leaving the future of the family solely in their hands.

Unlike others, you don't try to prove your point and just state something groundlessly. I don't see how my disbelief in fl abilities makes my reading comprehension inadequate. She is smart and talented and able...why? Because author metions her education in passing? Lots of people have degrees and still achieve nothing major in life. And saying something doesn't automatically make it a fact. For example, you saying my reading comprehension is lacking is just that : you saying it. What has fl done so far to prove herself? Give me some facts or is that too challenging for you?

Bro ur think to deep about this like two other ppl explain it you and ppl can naturally smart and sometimes the story doesn’t need to give u everything straight up u can infer it I’m not going on anymore I just felt silly and wanted to reply
