hes clearly talking out of frustration. jaehyuk is not letting him cut ties nor is he letting him pay him back. he wants nothing to do with him so this is his way of paying him back. and once hes done he will leave like hello? hes using jaehyuks own words against him because what else is he gunna do.

no…he has the freedom to take the money and dip. by stubbornly refusing to pay back the money which is impossible he’s stuck in this situation due to his own pride. he could literally just accept the money and dip. that’s enough money to start a new life somewhere else.
he has that freedom but thats not in his character to do that. that would be incredibly ooc. yeonoh has been fucked over so many times he doesnt want ANY chance of anyone to bring him back to that debt bs. it literally got his father killed even if he hated him. in yeonohs eyes he owes jaehyuk, whether the money or because he saved him. his entire life has been him paying people back and transactional relationships, so why would he not do the same here?
the difference here is that jaehyuk has on more than one occasion stressed that he won’t hold the debt to him and has actually demonstrated it. Even the uke acknowledged that he was being ridiculous but insisted bc of pride. He knows the situation differs but one of the reasons behind his actions is because he never fell out of love with the ML and is using this as a way to in some twisted way stay close. The author again is just too transparent. Again these are fictional characters written in a predictable plot line- this book cannot be compared to real life situations at least not entirely because it has propped up by too many plot conveniences. I think it’s dangerous actually.
although yeonoh hasn’t entirely fallen out of love with jaehyuk, he has proven he’s able to think of himself first. personally i think he is doing this both because he wants to cut ties with him but also because he wants something with him for one final time
the problem with your comment is that you write like he’s a real person with autonomy instead of a written character in a story with predictable outcomes. my main issue is that this author has situated him in continuous situations of suffering both self inflicted and forced. you cannot then try and reason that he is doing something for himself when it’s literally just him suffering. be honest. stories like this have the similar vibes to a Little Life which is just straight up trauma porn. despite this being way mild in comparison…it’s still there because the uke is made to WANT to suffer. thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
