This is getting even more confusing.
The ml is adorable but basically powerless against his mother and the court.
His concubines are harpies.
The brother that was dead but not dead..did he love the FL and gave up the throne?

You make some good points...the elder brother who was the crown prince does seem to harbor some kinds forlorn love for the fl...I think he's a serious kinda cute even though I like th ml and think he's cute as well I think that his brother may have been more suited as emperor and then he would have been more free as a prince/artist. But this is packed full of court drama which I like but I can see why people lose their sense and innocence as in all the schemes, misunderstandings,poisonings...it can start to erode even an iron will...I mean I'm still sad about the loyal servant to the empress dying for no good reason to save her master ( ̄へ ̄)

This manhua is so interesting. But at the same time it's really sad. There's this ongoing theme that the male lead can and will save everyone and anyone. Sometimes people do die despite best efforts. He's got a serious saviour complex. And it makes me so sad to think that this was why he burned out in his last life. He's walking down the same path.

Its interesting. But I skimmed through...teenage insecurity and love stories don't make me feel all sweet anymore.
But is that plushie thing around?
I'm guessing the equivalent exchange is going to be either her true love or her feelings/ memories of her true love. Something more human or tangible that'll leave her bereft.
There was a similar exchange themed episode in a manhua called ghost stories. So I'm just guessing.
Good for her that she's starting to understand now.

It wasn't Medea who gave up their friendship for the title. It was YOU, you stupid ignorant girl. You Chose your freedom over anything else. Suck it up and live with the blame..you got out of that cage like you desperately wanted. What, you thought the world was all flowers and rainbows? Experience both sides of living and stop wailing like a child.

Yes she chose her freedom, but can you really deny that you would have done something different in that situation? When you’ve been manipulated and locked up and abused your entire life, and you’re in “mutual love” with you savior, who brought you out of the situation. To her, Medea didn’t even love the prince, which she thought was extremely unfair.
Perhaps if she prioritized the friendship over EVERYTHING else, she might have first told Medea about how she’s wanted to be with the crown prince and asked her to step down. But emotions are more complicated than that, so she hid the fact. Even then, Psyche never cheated, it was the crown prince who did so. Finally, even if Psyche had told Medea in the beginning, do you really think Medea would have stepped down?! IMO, Media’s goal above everything else was power and she needed to be the empress. She valued that more than her friendship as well. She would never have simply agreed to the request, and their relationship would most definitely have soured.
Personally, I believe Psyche is an amazing character. She has her faults and mistakes, but no human being is perfect, and that just makes her much more realistic. In fact, her character flaws are much more easily forgivable than Medea’s, but no one ever mentions Medea’s flaws.
Pysche was more sheltered when growing up, but when confronted without the harsh realities of life, when didn’t just give up and despair. No, she worked up her courage and continued to persevere. She’s demonstrated great will and perseverance, as well as adaptability to her new role. Finally, when Pysche is confronted with her mistakes, she never ignores or shrinks back from them. Instead, she apologizes, faces them, and vows to do better.
In the end, it’s really easy to criticize since we are readers, and know everything that goes on. But when you place yourself in a character’s shoes, it’s much harder to do so. Can you really say that you would have done as well or even better in Psyche’s situation, and have demonstrated her strength of character despite her upbringing. I most definitely feel that I wouldn’t have been able to do that.

Is this an essay on “why we should not hate psyche”?
Idk man, but I think the OP is telling psyche to suck it up and live with it, since it comes on the side with her “order of freedom” and for me. Idk, I can’t stop hating her. I get it, she’s sheltered and everything, but I can’t get over what she did “in the past” (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

So circumstance doesn’t matter? I mean I guess what I’m more irritated about is the hypocrisy. Like Psyche obviously has some flaws in that she didn’t confront Medea when she first found out about the prince, but like why are people just ignoring everything Medea’s done as well? like she’s killed Psyche’s servants and others, as well as hurt a lot of other people. But that somehow doesn’t matter?

Honestly yeah it doesn't matter, not because medea is a killer, but because psyche herself just got gloomy for a little while even though the knight who served her family got killed by medea, otherwise medea is obviously still can't moving on from nanny's death.
Medea being a killer is morally not okay of course, but people symphatize with her so much, that what makes all her evil doings don't matter. Readers also can see the reason why she kill/hurt people.
Honestly i agree that psyche also has her reason, if people can view medea and psyche neutrally, they'll obviously understand both medea and psyche. But unfortunately, people emphatize with medea much more than psyche. Psyche is basically not a likable character for common readers, i saw other webtoons with weak, naive, and crybaby FL get so much hateful comments, means even without medea, character like psyche will still get hated, people will always find more reason to hate her, whether it's her own flaws or even more irrelevant matter like ship-related thing, readers just love to hate her since she's simply unlikable character.
I used to hate psyche because of nanny's death, but i forgive her after this chapter since she regret it so much, so i think i don't hate her anymore (honestly i know well that she doesn't mean any harm, but nanny's death is too hurtful for me, it's just somehow unforgivable before psyche herself finally realized the truth and regretted it). I thought other readers will stop hating her too, but apparently the hate is getting even worse, so i can't think of any reason why readers hate her other than she's simply 'unlikable character' for them.
One thing that I absolutely hate about this manhua(among MANY if not all of it) is that Jiun got a chance at redemption too but she chose wrong...tia chose not revenge but to live a quiet life and to become happy regardless of the prince and jeun's fate. She didn't care about her coming back..she was infact waiting for jiun to come back so that she could pass her title and live freely
But Jeun chose revenge instead of her family!! She goes moaning about how alone she is and how much she missed her family and she then chooses revenge OVER them!!
I seriously pity her parents for giving birth to such a heartless bitch.
Kinda agree on that :(
Heartless bitch is a bit too much...
She is a sad case to be precise.. She was filled with anger and hate!! Do not expect someone like that to think rational enough..
On Tia's case... She was framed.. She coudl get angry but her being stripped off from her position so quickly..
Made her have FEAR and TRAUMA and not hate..
Different people adapts different to various situations and we have no right to be judgemental with that.. All we could do is to pray for them
Ikr. Even if she gets her own novel or webtoon, never gonna read it. Not my vibe.
Nah heartless bitch is exactly what she is. Tia did nothing to her but she came back with the intent to kill her. JUST BECAUSE she was being compared to her AFTER Tia was wrongfully EXECUTED. Julien was a complete waste who made no efforts to learn about the Empire or do her Empress duty because Tia was busy cleaning up after her. If she had only came back to fuck shit up with Zena and the Aristoshitheads then i would agree that it would be too much. HOWEVER the fact that she came and included Tia into the mix definitely made her a heartless bitch.
Guess.. We will not agree on this.. This is my take.. I just read spoilers on this..
If Jieun is heartless bitch.. Then Tia is also a bitch, cold one to be exact.... Cause she is the inheriting crown princess and empress but she just obeyed the court ruling over Jieun to be executed, cause deep inside... she hated Jieun as well and she is willing to let Jieun die but her redemption made her rethink that.....
The author just let Jieun reveal everything at the cell and Tia realise that they are just the same but their input is just different; and Tia's mercy on Jieun is to make her choose.. Jieun will drink poison or potion to make her dead.... .. For someone who saved your life and gave you powers... Is that how should you give thanks?? Make her choose??
So.. Both of them hate each other... It is both ways.
And spoilers... She came back to fuck up the aristrocrats especially the duke who fooled her and the prince.. With Tia.. It is just pure hate.. And Tia could say that to Jieun as well.. They both hated each other... So no way in second life they will work together
So ur fcking logic is if someone stabbed me and robbed me ,when i get my revenge that they DESERVED
ur telling me that the person who stabbed me first is as innocent as me who got stabbed and robbed?
What are you talking about?? Your analogy does not make any sense.. I am stupid so please.. Make your analogy easier to understand..
Are you talking about the power grab between two women in general?? What specific part? Jieun's redemption??
Is Tia nearly killed because of the duke??
You read spoilers and I read the light novel. Julien tried to kill Tia in the second phase. She tried came back to hurt Tia when Tia did her absolute NOTHING in their past life. Tia did nothing but cleaned up after her useless ass. She could have learned to do her empress duty however she did not. The only person who deserved to die was Duke Zeke since he is the one who killed Julien and her child after he had no use for her. Julien is a heartless bitch. If i were to try and kill you would you be willing to fight against the court for me? Keep in mind that I was the one who poison you but had a change of heart magically. I'm trying to hurt you despite knowing how pitiful your life was before and also experiencing it for myself after you die. I never once sympathize with you or think "hey maybe I should leave this person alone because they didn't do anything to me but they still suffered because of me. I knew she was in love with the prince and I ended taking him from her and despite being the empress I'm completely useless and she does EVERYTHING I find troublesome for me." Nope all she thought was "oh everyone loved Tia and everyone missed her after she died so let me go and try to make her life miserable and oh hey why not poison her for the fun of it too"
Okay.. Thank you for that.. So Jieun tried to kill Tia.... Oops, got the wrong info... That is why..
It's cool. Yeah she tried to poison her or successfully poisoned her then realised that she was the villain in this life so asked God to bring her back. After all that Tia gave Julien the option to either drink a poison that will kill her or drink a fake poison that will make her seem dead so she can then escape. Read the manga a while back so forget some details.
