After reading the novel, ngl this kind of ruined the whole story for me but, the General never loved Yoo-Young. He cared about him and felt sorry for him, that`s about it. So, anyone who was wooting for him, I`m sorry, me too. Honestly the ML and 2nd ML both suck. This poor kid was wrecked mentally and went through hell physically. The Emperor does change eventually but never really redeemed himself in my opinion. I feel like Yoo-Young was never truly loved, just used and unlucky. Very toxic stockholm syndrome.

The problem is the moment Haejoon accepted the bet money after Jitae admitted his feelings for him. Haejoon knowing how he suffered all that time in his unrequited love with no intentions to destroy Kyunghoon/Haejoon sister`s relationship for his own gain. That was the moment you lose all trust and faith with him; you could never convince me the feelings he suddenly claims to have for Jitae are genuine. Wth!
