the difference is, previous readers didn't really care with the genre as long as the story is good. but this day... readers are sooo sensitive and can't tell what is porn, which is fiction and what is reality.
ex manga not equal. the genre is incest (father and son) but it has really good plot and story. back then... readers really appreciated this manga as an amazing fictional work. they don't really mind with the genre and focus on the story.
and for present.... everyone policing each other. talking about how bad it is everywhere. that's why "incest" seems to be a popular theme for now.
