I mean plot wise it moved hella fast. It would have been better if it was from the children's POV. It's more like a story about coping mechanism and grief than romance to me.
About the public bath it might seem weird to people but I guess it's very normal in Japan. Also children don't sexualise people adults do. About him leaving children with an unknown man might seem weird but like...it's pretty normal in asian society? Where adults group together to take care of kids even if they are unknown? Idk I live in south asia and it seemed very normal that another person would step up seeing a parent struggling with their children.
Also children idolise/have crush on competent adults around them. It's only problematic when the adults make a pass on it or use it to groom them etc. Here the adults didn't make any advance at all lol. Idk what's all the fuss about. This is like one of the healthiest found family BL manga around.
He doesn't take sex as an autonomous actions of pleasure but a job. So he for long didn't care if it happens consensually or not. Just like we take orders from out boss for jobs we don't want to do. It is technically violation of our boundaries but we endure it. Same with him.
However after he fell in love and realised sex was infact an act of passion and love or at least an act you do with people you like with consent he resisted.
This is very sad but it shows the lack of self respect and preservation and attitude towards sex as an act also lack of boundaries. In real world you go to psychiatrist and therapists to work on this but it's manga so....

It was enjoyable for me. Especially because I don't really fall for BL characters and read them as story. Zigril's character stayed true to what he actually was and I am glad because some would develop character to fit the mass appeal which is meh, not interesting.
If you are presenting a character as some psychopath, self-centered nobleman you should know they would never develop into a particularly sympathetic person. Zigril didn't have a tragic life or anything, he grew up in wealth with immense power so he would get what he wanted even if by using force. I like his development, his character as a whole. I am glad he didn't have any sob backstory to justify his assholeness because I'd be pissed if there was. I really like him even though I wouldn't touch him with a ten feet pole thanks.
Kay was delightful to watch he was so cute trying to run away but screaming about Zigril the moment he is in trouble. I love him and his misery. Idk how his ass survived for 10 years in the wild lmao but I guess he had the protection of the ladies which is fair I guess.
What disappointed me was the length tbh they could have gone more with the horror elements and more adventures. The mystery and investigations were so interesting hehe I guess I love a good horror and murder mystery.
Also Schuman?????? Hello???? His story???? Give sequel because it's hella interesting.
