Well, what else are they supposed to do create a whole different idea? It would only be rational and logical to expect something like this. Why would they feel they need or even have a need to create something totally different. If you want to story like that then this ain’t for you, none of the historical romance are for you then.

Who cares if the character actually came up with the idea? You’re just being unreasonable, those are literally unreasonable expectations for author, trying to write a book. If you don’t like the book, you don’t have to read it. And you can criticize it and still read it but don’t criticize it about something dumb like trying to create a whole new idea for a BOOK. The point is the book is not about her creating an idea. It’s not like the author is like oh my god yes I made this. Does it exist in this world duh. The writing is pressure. The book is fire. The plot line is fire.. you’re just unreasonably hateful if you want some thing like that, go read the duchesses 50 tea recipes. You don’t like the plot line, but keep reading the same stories now who’s illogical and stupid. Tell the truth you like this plotline you like the story you’re just being a bitch

They didn't need it include it, point blank, but they did. because they want their character to be someone whose smart and innovative but they themselves aren't (does this strike a little to close to home
