sorry guys but English isn't my first language, but still, grooming as you guys said is building an emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate them into their liking, by saying things like you shouldn't wear that, you shouldn't do that, you manipulate that person to fit what you like, in this case since he isn't his child he is being groomed as he grows up even if it's not meant in a bad way.
