I left this for quite some time in my to read list but im glad i decided to read it today for some reason.. wished we got the side stories though because i need to see more of their established relationship moments.. but anyway i digress. This story was such a great read, with really unique plots and characters (Gyul especially) i thought he was gonna be another asshole character but holy shit? He became one of my favs in my many years of reading BL, im gonna start rambling but gyul was such a breath of fresh air, perfectly written, well executed idk what else to say.. hes so pragmatic and rational and i knew it before the romance even started but hes the type to fall deeply (hes my type of men fr i love frank people) and ugh i love that this story gave us both of their POVs and i really love (i cannot emphasize how much) Gyul BECAUSE ARGH HIS MONOLOGUES ARE MY FAVORITE THING TO READ.. also not to mention his dirty talks (which imo not so dirty if you compare it with some others) was another fav part to read lmao i love me some sassy men… one thing i wanted to gripe about this was the dark parts of jeongro’s life because yes ik the author tried to portray and convey his life in an implicit kind of way but i feel like the situation with his friend and the mother got sweeped under the rug quite fast lol but this wasnt really big enough for me to complain about honestly.. anyway again… 5/5

Reread it after i left some chapters before the last season started and goshh i think i need to kiss the translation team cause theyve made me want to worship seungho (which i do even without his poetic ass cause why is he so hot for) and ugh the way he yearns….. i cant do this. Men who yearns, EARNS and thats on period. Although i think the ending was quite rushed but well its still a roughly happy ending i guess (i cried so bad when yknow the part where seungho basically massacred those pieces of shits) because holy hell seeing nakyum and seungho cried breaks my heart so bad like omg the author really wants to torture us. Regardless, this is a masterpiece and i think one of the pillars holding the BL world lol (at least for manhwa side)
Mhm, I feel like it influenced a lot of joseon setting BL. Ive always loved how it was translated because I feel they speak in a poetic old fashioned way ^.^ Its got problematic aspects but I still enjoyed the ride. Definitely one of my faves and collecting the english volumes ヾ(☆▽☆)
Its been like what.. idk 3-4 years since I last read this masterpiece and idk why i gave it a 4/5 lmao but obviously rereading it once my frontal lobe has developed made me appreciate what a well written story this is. Maybe the younger me couldnt see how adult and mature their love was and now its so blinding not because its flawless but because its really realistically portrayed because of the drama and the issues regarding porn industry is pretty well discussed too. Overall, 5/5 after reread and ugh im glad i decided to reread cause i could barely remember what the story was about lol.
