Oscar, Cain, and Asher are almost of age which in this novel is 20 yo for men and 18 for women (they talk about it during Isis’s 18 birthday, she is the same age as the prince). Mielle’s early engagement was special case. Usually people wait until both are of age to get engaged then marry a year later (Aria and Sarah do that). Mielle in Oscar got engaged early because “they were in love” which translates to Oscar is now Mielle’s prisoner.
