Ik I'm from a country that got colonized by the british AND the Japanese both were equally as bad. Some of the shit my grandparents have told me, still horrifies me to this day. Honestly, most of the people who go to Korea or Japan or China (lets be real they're never gonna go to third world countries in asia) are huge fetishizers. I can't comment on them being obsessed with white men or women since I'm not Korean, just know they're obsessed with white skin to the point of bleaching rip.
Actually alot of the White people or europeans go to The third world countries in asia ( example thailand and philippines). Mostly for the fact of tourism but the asian fetish for those in third world countries is the same (think about the stereotype of thai girls/pros*it*es.) But the fact is that the white people made this whole narative of the white savior, and that white people will give them better lives and that white people are the desirable look.
Shes not talking about the lightness of skin (cuz we already know about that royalty/labor and etc) shes talking about why asians became obsessed with white men/people. Because the colonizers came into their countries and made them view white people as better. Thats where it all started. and it became so deeply ingrained in their mindsets that its become what it is today.

Yeah but not a lot of them permanently move there like in Korea or Japan. They'll go to those places to 'enlighten' themselves or do some charity work which is great and all but it's not as hyped up as the three east asian countries.

Cause like I said before KOREA never had white colonizers unlike countries like Vietnam. I can't speak for every colonized asian country but where I'm from there is still so much bitterness towards the British for what they did. Ik for some people that may date white people for 'exoticness' but they aren't exactly the type to take home to your parents especially when they can't speak your parents native language nor have a deep understanding of the culture so I think it's a far reach to say asian colonized countries are 'obsessed' with white people. Maybe the whole european thing is true for YOUR country but it's really not for every colonized asian country and is very offensive to say so. My country also was colonized by many people from the Greeks to the British but they are not obsessed with europeans so your point doesn't really work. Each country has an unique history so it's a blanket statement for you to say we're all obsessed with white people and features.
