It’s super unsatisfying as the reader to have this sort of misunderstanding. Shushu thinks she’s cheating on Minicat and it makes the sex scenes way less impactful.
Also, how is Shushu such a moron that she doesn’t realize he’s Minicat? Magic exists in their world so it isn’t completely out of the realm of possibilities. She knows that Minicat and her ‘brother’ come from a place known for its sorcery.
