Dang if you guys can't handle the slow burn then just leave, this isn't gonna be a novel where Ruby gets over her abuse super fast, she's enduring 2 lifetimes worth of abuse and it would be unrealistic as hell for her to open up to any stranger, let alone the guy who was supposed to kill the character she's possessing. If you want something faster then go find one of those manga where the abused is a child who doesn't know better and opens up to their savior instantly.

Damn, I think I actually read a translation of the novel so I think I kinda know what's going on, but I also forgot most of it. Hopefully there'll be another update soon, I saw that the author's note dated back to 2020.

Evan was mentioned once at the very beginning of the story, where he begged Fii to stay with him. Fii mentioned that everything was her fault and that it was a once in a lifetime love for the prince. Evan took her words to heart and set a bunch of things in motion as a sort of revenge. The novel translation was MTL and was awful so I couldn't really understand it, but I managed to figure out this much.
