The manga and live action are really different I regret seeing the live action first now I am constantly comparing the stories
for me I also saw the japanese live action first, but after reading the manga, I prefer the manga more, though I do adore the live action, just idk the feeling is different I guess that I can separate the two and not compare them, especially cause in the manga you can see them progress more and be more affectionate with each other
I saw the live action after and I'm not used to jdrama so I'd forgotten how much they like drawing out moments and keeping them from having too much physicality so it was a disappointing watch. I understand JP culture is simply different regarding this but it makes the relationships look so forced and artificial... Also the casting was good but my god they butchered Tsuge's characterization and the pacing was so all over the place. I'm not going to spoil the end but it made absolutely no sense, they could have given this a good ending without changing the story so much.
