Eugene was assumed to be Belial's contractor before Mars (Leviathan) killed him for "killing" Catherine (was not Lillith yet). He slit her throat and she was out for an entire day. When she returned and released her pent up anger for the way Mars was treating her, he finally recognized that she indeed was his contractor from the future. Eugene was captured by Mars, and Mars warned Catherine not to go in multiple times, but we all know she does what she wants lol Part of the reason he loves her <3

That was really cute. It could have totally dragged out with them just getting to know each other better. (Finding out their similarities and interests, sharing meals, more miscommunication with other people instead of just other love interests.) But I am satisfied with what happened and how things ended even without any smut lol
