Yeah, the ending sucked, but it's actually kind of interesting to see a story about death handled in a different way. A lot of people can't handle the death of their most loved person, and we can't always expect them to pull out of it. Some do and can live a normal life with someone else, others it takes years, and a few might kill themselves because they can't take it. Life isn't always fluffy endings, unfortunately.

I don't think I could live my entire life loving my best friend but only being friends while carrying on with my family that's also friends with my beloved friend's family. I mean, I could do it, but there would always be a lingering emptiness, a bit of sadness maybe, a little regret.
