Yeah I agree with you. If he did 'fake his death' to run away I think that'd be too clichéd. And he doesn't seem like the running away type. Even mishe would hate him for that. Honestly I think he did that so he can get a rise out of Mishe, only cause of what he said thinking of her. & that his brother automatically thought of giving the 'memento' to mishe. I wonder why? Maybe she'll wreck havoc now in her hostage situation

I thought of this also because I've seen comments saying Mishe isn't as how she was in the beginning. 'No longer a strong female lead' almost like a damsel in distress. While I can see how they think that, I honestly just think she's integrating herself into palace life & realized that in other people's eyes she's just one of the Prince's lover. Which, idk, made all her actions about that. Maybe cautious, calculated, almost like her identity was always with him.
So I'm hoping to see, once she realizes that her prince isn't going to save her, what's she gonna do?
