*user:lembayung* From what I read so far, the Duke was the one who got drugged and coerced her mother, the mother was only blackmailed to be a dancer by the aristocratic faction, their purpose was to lower the honour and prestige of the Duke, the head of imperial faction who was known as faithful husband and loving father, there is no guarantee a child would be born from one night sex, by making the Duke think he commited a 'mistake', they expect him to withdraw from the political arena, he make his comeback after he offered a deal with the Emperor, instead of his youngest daughter, his illegitimate daughter would be send as the CP fiancee, bcause he knows fully well the Empress viciousness and his weak daughter wouldn't survive the imperial life.
