Rofl, it's just bringing up the "Barbie" theory. It's a way they've seen women as old as time. Society never truly accepted overweight women, men sure, but women not really. They may accept it on the surface level only if it makes them appear good to others. You can legit find so many books in school libraries that want "thin" women, it's sad really, well that's if they didn't make it to the "ban" list for other reasons.
I can recall so many horrid books I had to read through my school years, my sophomore year being the worst because we had spent a few months just on the "Barbie" theory itself. The amount of stories was quite jarring. The cruel methods of dieting on children were intense. Not many women were allowed to learn anything beyond being a good housewife ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
I just ignore the bad folks and carry on with the ones who accept others no matter how they look, who they think they are, how they live, and just whatever makes them so different.
