I remember giving the novel a try. I couldn't get through it. Extremely angsty and extremely slow, to the point of it being frustrating. I'm surprised there's even this comic adaptation.

Honestly, those chibi assassins (chap. 43) are kinda cute. XD

This world is kind of annoying (and the allusions to RL politics pretty heavy-handed). I hope we get back to the more interesting main world soon.

Chap. 94: The plump merchant essentially calls himself the MC's wife, builds a statue to him, greets the MC with sparkles.

"Would you like to meet my granddaughter?" LOL. All these old guys wanting our MC to be their son-in-law is hilarious.

I really love this manga. The art's great, the pacing is really good, the MC is powerful but not annoying, the side characters are great, the fights are beautifully drawn, and there's a wonderful balance between plot, badassery, drama, and humor, which is hard to find in this kind of genre. (You either get stuck in endless dumps of cultivation info or the MC is so OP, it gets repetitive.)

I also really like the MC. His maturity comes out in a lot of ways, but the world isn't afraid to throw a few jokes at him. Plus, he's always striving to improve himself. Even with all the girls beginning to appear (namely, the Phoenixes), his mind is always focused on preventing the war that devastated his first life. It's just really refreshing.
