It’s literally 1am and I need to work tomorrow but I couldn’t put this masterpiece down. The story was so gutwrechingly good and realistic. *Spoiler ahead: it also doesn’t happen alot that in these type of stories the mc ends up with the second lead which caught me off guard. In the first couple chapters when the second lead got introduced it was so swift and we got so little indebt of him that I thought he would be a short filler person (like one that pushes the ‘main couple’ together, by some jealousy or something). By some reason what I love about this too is that, just like in real life, a person that may seem very small and insignificant at the time may be the person that changes your whole perspective and matures you. Alot of chapters I was waiting for Subin to waver (seeing his character I wouldn’t have been suprised by this). I love how they showed that a slow-paced and not always steady relationship, but one that always keeps trying to put in effort is the one that wins at the end of the finish line instead of the heart-racing, a little obsessive and unreachable first love.
I am very interested to see what Hyeonwoo, the older noona and her ex (but also the friend with red hair) will end up taking as a lifepath.
The last chapter had me shocked and gasping omg, the way everything came together. Makes me as a reader think how many on the things we saw were actually reality, how much of it was faked/calculated my Sungkyung and how much of it was out of the perspective of Cheong-rim ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Does anyone know more stories like this? I loveee this kind of angst/thrill!
Jaekyung’s character/temper isn’t something he can change in one day, otherwise it wouldnt be realistic. People dont make a complete 160 once they fall in love, or its for a very simple period of time. For a very long time his temper was what he needed to survive and get where he is now and expecting him to just drop the temper is asking him to lose his coping mechanism. I appreciate that he is starting to see its toxic, the first step is always seeing it and the second is repairing it. It just takes alot of trial and error.
I’ve been saying this! I hate that people are pushy about him needing to start being nicer. It’s not just the flick of a switch, it’s a process.
Def, and if he would all of a sudden switch everything and became a sweetheart. How weird would that be? I feel like alot of people just don’t like the realism behind some characters and expect that when a character falls inlove they completely shift without any problems.
Bc they glossed over the whole plot (him being earthy) I totally forgot it had alr been revealed, was a little confused bc of that in this chapter
One of the best stories I’ve read in years, the world buildup, the dynamic between them, the angst and politics (that are actually good to follow bc that also doesnt always happen), strong women that have character and arent just there for fillers UGH I CAN GO ON AND ON
The loser behavior suits him so well tho and a pro-active bottom is always so refreshing to see. I love there dynamic so much.
