I guess only people who experienced something similar to Yatora can truly understand it... I was so heartbroken when I learned that one person (we used to study together) who's art style I admired so much, stopped doing art altogether. When we were in art college I thought we all were going to become artists (painters), but in the end only few of us did (including me ofc)
Besides "loosing" all the art pieces you could marvel upon in future, there is this part about validation? that like no, I'm not crazy to go all in, and it's not a doomed path that leads to failure most of the time you should avoid
Yoonwon can't say he likes Dae bc his mother rejected him. As long as he doesn't reveal his feelings and is not actually in a relationship with Dae, Dae can't reject him. If Dae rejects him it's like... this is going to confirm that yeah, Yoonwon is an unworthy piece of shit indeed, not needed by his mom, not needed by anyone. He is trying to protect himself from pain. He needs to do something about his trauma instead though ofc
TRUE ! his trauma is so deep rooted that the only way he thinks he can keep someone that he obviously loves is by owning them or treating them like a “pet”. but now he’s been “abandoned” even though they weren’t technically together, which basically shatters his entire belief system. maybe i’m reading too deep into their characters, but it’s interesting how complex yoonwon is, especially with how he deals with his trauma.
this hurt. I was hoping Hirano is demi. I think author should have hinted that this won't be a typical bl romance beforehand.
I'm triggered bc I'm on ace spectrum and I have rejected countless ppl saying umm sorry I don't think this is going to work out after all. I didn't realize how painful it could be until I fell for an aro person myself and it was his turn to play with my heart, "to figure himself out" at my expense
hmm I guess the world really needed this manga. have I read it earlier mb smth would have clicked faster for me
I would have the same reaction as JK even if it was about someone I met an hour ago, it doesn't say anything about his feelings ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
That being said, Dan is kinda no more hopeful as a character, doesn't seem like he wants to change, looks like he's given up on himself and his life 99%. You can't help someone when they don't want to get better themselves
the fact that he wasn't sure he would be able to restrain himself next time was icky asf (ch. 15).
idk why are we even glorifying a top who's willing to do the bare minimum of not shoving it in despite the bottom being in severe pain
About chapter 15, I get where your coming from, but what I'd like to point out is that he's overthinking about hurting his lover at the start. The bar is on the floor, and I agree, absolutely, the bare minimum. We appreciate this top and how he's scared to hurt or scare the bottom again, he's upset at himself and he's reflecting, that's one of the points that make this story endearing. I guess appreciation can seem like glorification sometimes. I hope you can appreciate the main point of the story too; of their transformation, their love story, and their development not just as a couple but also as their own characters.(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Friend... I really REALLY didn't want to pick this manga apart, bc, obv we all know that we have so many MUCH worse titles... But that chapter. ugh. he is scared of losing control after losing it in the hotel if I remember correctly, when Kanato said he was scared. it just irked me so so bad... and suddenly I was like... why are we celebrating the bare minimum in the first place ╥﹏╥
I'm sorry for souring the comment section!! and thank you for being nice...
Don't worry, I agree too if it was an irl situation, if that thought was shared to me by a friend or by a lover I wouldn't feel safe lol. I guess, is the fact that we don't see enough tops like this in fiction that it surprised most readers. Don't worry about expressing a different opinion. It was actually nice to see a differing perspective from everyone and it did broaden my own perspective on the story too! This was a great exchange of perspective(⌒▽⌒)
