So I'm guessing Iheon either traveled back in time or he went to a new world that was similar to the novel. While Huimin went to a complete different world where everything was happy, Iheon was his friend, that's maybe why when he sees the "novel" Iheon GENUINELY smiling, he sees the friend Iheon in him.

Wait I got like a theory, there was another portal that opened inside the great dungeon when they cleared it. The portal looked like it disappeared and I feel like someone used their skill to make the portal reappear in the future where they have even greater chance of clearing it due to all the new technology or something.
I think that it disappeared because not all of the people who had the Gaia skills where there. I think to enter the black portal at the end you had to have a Gaia Skill. But that my theory.
I think that's a pretty great theory! In my theory, i feel that the great dungeon that they have predicted isn't the same dungeon years ago. But I also feel like they haven't actually cleared the great dungeon from years ago due to the fact a portal appeared inside it and "disappeared"
I also have a theory about the guy who was supposed to exit with the 4 that did. I think he stayed in the dungeon. And that premonition that shows 1 person walking into the black portal. It's him.

OK FINALLY, so they were actually the characters, they were written into the novel, after they both died they both went into a different timelines AND world.
Ok so this is just a theory but since they both were at different timelines when they came back, while the ml was in the highschool timeline, the Huimin was in the world he believed in, and where the ml was sweet and his friend (?) until he discovered the book again and regressed into the "book" but that wasn't the book he actually read, it was the timeline where ml was already trying to change things.
