Rereading this yet i still felt the anxiety coming up to me despite knowing what will happen. From the art style to the way the story was executed was perfect, everything about this manhwa is perfect. This manhwa perfectly portrayed how different victims and perpetrators react from the same experience. People saying that dohyun not remembering anything from the past is unrealistic clearly hasn’t experienced such loneliness to the point that you have accepted that nothing stays the same and life is all about change.

The way how the author showed sungho’s trauma but never glorified it enough to make us sympathize with him to forget all the crimes he did is perfectly written though i do know that there are some people who are justifying it which leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Though dohyun is not entirely innocent, and we’re not suppose to take sides in this story, from the beginning i have been rooting for him. What he did to sungho during their high school days are definitely wrong, but all i can say is that they’re both kids. If only, sungho chose to communicate his feelings instead of going out of his way to become the “monster” it would’ve been the best outcome for them.

What sungho did was understandable but it’s unjustifiable. Understandable in way that he was once just a kid too and needed help, not in a way that it’s understandable because of what dohyun did.

Personally, i didn’t really like the ending. It’s not ideal for me, but i guess i’m glad that it didn’t turn out to be the worse for dohyun. I absolutely love dohyun’s character. He deserves so much better and i wish life will be finally good to him. I can’t help but feel sorry for him. Nevertheless, the manhwa is such a good read. Genuinely one of the best out there in my opinion since i have read quite a lot of it already. As a sucker for the psychological genre, this is absolutely a must read if you can handle heavy themes!

everything about this manga is so perfect for me. i love how it was kota who brought them together but was never in between them just like how it’s usually done with other dead lover tropes. they didn’t focus on how the ml is still smitten with his first love but focused on how he is able to easily accept a new path in life. each one of the main characters had their own spotlight and the main couple’s relationship had good communication, i really love how tetsu never made shun feel like he’s a replacement or made him feel any sense of inferiority against his first love. i love everything about this manga and this is how you properly write dead lover trope!!

of course he’ll jump into a conclusion when in the first place chaeheon never specified his feelings for him. he never admitted that he has feelings for mc but acts all touchy with him so he had all the rights to be delusional about it??? and jengyoon has always been insecure to that girl literally since back in their high school days so don’t play with me rn

what a waste of good character design. literally just threw bunch of unnecessary rape and called it a day. uke’s big tits carried the whole manga and just his tits alone because the uke himself is annoying ass hell too, he’s too naive for his own good.

saw someone defending jk as if they completely forgot all of his actions throughout the whole series LMFAO it IS trauma bond and no you don’t need a dictionary to know that because WE WON’T FORGET THE WAY HE TREATED DAN BEFORE. yeah it’s great that dan is finally getting the treatment he deserved because the only love he’s ever received is from his grandma but that doesn’t change the fact that he deserves the love he gets from jaekyung. what he needs from jaekyung is an apology for all the shit he put him through. also a reminder, throughout the whole series this is the first time jaekyung has actually treated dan right. but literally dan has already been catching feelings even before that. it’s literally stockholm syndrome because he can’t leave jaekyung. where else would he go and earn money if he leaves him? are seriously forgetting that he took that job because he had no other choice? isn’t that the same thing as being kidnapped? having no choice but to stay because of the situation you’re in? this is literally the same argument as the painter of the night jesus christ i can’t believe we have people defending JAEKYUNG FROM JINX.
