i actually think the miscommunication trope makes sense in this situation: they’re still early stages of the relationship, they still want to look good to each other, they weren’t friends before all this, they actually don’t know much about each other in general.
Opening up in these moments shows fragility and trust, it’s really hard at the beginning! Hope it doesn’t last too long tho lol
