Nah, because he originally planned to use the MC until he was no longer useful/made any problems and then throw him away. But then he realized that the MC was not only talented but he kind of started liking the MC, so he was planning to keep him on his team after the dungeons were done and keep him in his grasp. That's why he was so shocked about the MC trying to kill himself, he knew the MC was depressed and showed some self-harm tendencies but he thought he had manipulated the MC enough that he would remain docile by his side.
