I really don't think this is a k*nk yoai at all as it talks about some serious problems and actually has a plot. Also it's a slow burn while "kink" stories usually center their "plot" around the kink, but this story has full chapters where they don't do anything but talk about the main mission...so it's very plot heavy. But spys usually do have to involve untrained civilians who are close to the target. And civilians will do this for fair compensation, and AJ's compensation is that he would monetarily be set up for life, so he took it. I think it all makes sense and it was kind fo the only way out for both of them. Thye ONLY thing that does make me feel off is the age gap
There were some jumps that felt like there were missing panels or chapters, and I wish we had gotten just a bit more in Javier's perspective to support his feelings. I get he's kind of a tsundere, but he was blowing so hot and cold, genuinely I couldn't tell how he felt. But overall, I like the tenor and tone of this kind of story.
