one of the kids was jealous of taehwan so him and his friends went to his dorm at night. taehwan was sleeping in bed but he woke up from the kids trying to hold him down. The jealous kid sneaked out a dead frog from the lab and said to taehwan that asian people eat frogs right? and was forcing him to eat it. THANKFULLY the kids got caught and he didn’t eat it

but yeah like i said, FUCK THEM KIDS

don’t quote me on this lol but i think the ginger guy we saw is his roommate at their dorm. the other kids were making fun of him too, calling him gay. taehwan was saying to him to just ignore them (he didn’t seem homophobic when he was a kid though...?)
during the frog incident, taehwan was wondering how the kids got into the dorm when it was locked and he knew that the ginger was the one that let them in. so yeah, that explains why when yeonwu asked him why he doesn’t just join the dorm and you can see taehwan being hesitant about it

to not be confused, i’m not talking about the ginger in university, talking about the ginger kid in the new raw chapter (why’s there so many gingers omg)

I don’t think he was being a homophobic to begin with, if you’re really straight down to the core being kissed by a guy while your guard down is even considered as a sexual harassment or assault, especially he have a trauma on that kind of thing, let’s just admit that the uke did a mistake on his approach to the seme. Taewan does not deserve the hate regardless if he’s badmouthing yeon. If we try to put our shoes on him anyone would also react negatively like that, its just being realistic ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

yeah that’s what i meant, i worded it wrong he wasn’t originally homophobic, but i think after whatever happened with the Mike guy (blonde older dude) is what made him become homophobic.

yeah i uploaded the chpt a day late haha. my bad. but can u read korean then? im so jealous ;_; even if u cant its better than mine. and omg "asians eat frogs" is what they said to him???? i was shocked with just the frog part. the RACISM THO. as for homophobia...i dont think taehwan IS homophobic. i think tahee wrongly assumed that because he didnt have the context for what went down but he did say taehwan was bullied and called gay which gave him a complex but we at no point see him say or do anything homophobic to anyone. his anger towards dojin and yeonwoo both have explanations that arent rooted in hating The Gays. as for mike, its pretty clear to me that he saw an isolated little boy who had no friends and whose family was not in reach and decided to take advantage. i wont go further than that because its not a think to say lightly and i wont know for sure if im right until next week but yeah just...this whole chpt sent chills down my spine even before that fckn P*do showed up. poor taehwan and im amaaaazed he's not 100x more fucked up than he is. (also i want to highlight that his reaction to yeonwoo kissing him involved trembling and shock/hurt in his face before running away it wasnt anger or disgust so his kneejerk reaction wasnt EWWW COOTIES but "et tu yeonwoo???" like the betrayal agaaiiin. heartbreaking tbh, im sure yeonwoo had no idea and would feel awful when he finds out but yeonwoo is sharp as a tack so im hoping he'll help taehwan come to terms with his trauma).

the author mentioned on their twitter that the school he went to was in Australia. Its also a private school and there was rarely any foreigners there so him being the only asian person in his class, i wasn't surprised that the other kids would be racist (what little shits)

lol yeah cause plenty of people be racist in the US anyway. most likely he was in an area far away from the usual pockets in the country where asian people tend to gather. and koreans afaik mainly congregate in NYC and LA area. tho taehwan's family is Rich so who knows where their main residence is lol but taehee said "taehwan changed when he went ot the US" so my assumption was during this time as a child his family was in south korea not the us while he was in the US (who tf knows where lol). but the bullying stuff was so scary cause it did FEEL real in a way cause bullying esp race fueld bullying can truly be that sick and dark irl.
