I don't like how yall are bitching about and bashing the scanlation group. I am no better since I still read things from here but I don't like how the scanlator is being trashed for wanting their conditions to be met.
It's obvious that some of yall didn't read the whole scanlator note or read only what you wanted to read. The scanlator group doesn't want mangago to make money off of the authors work. They ask that people don't post their translation on mangago, but somebody still goes against their wishes and posts it here anyways. They don't want it posted here because you can't take it down from mangago even if its licensed and the author won't get anything for their hard work. ALSO THE SCANLATION GROUP SAYS THEY DO NOT PROFIT FROM THIS meaning they do this on their own time. Why should mangago profit from the authors and scanlators work. They are translating to make it accessible for English speakers since it is not licensed in English. Yall are reading things for free without doing any work translating so you really shouldn't be bitching about the scanlation group and how they want their conditions to be listened to.
The threat may have been too far but they are clearly frustrated since people are not listening to them. And its clear yall are not going to listen if there isn't a threat. All of the other chapters clearly say NOT to post their translations to mangago but here it is anyways. How can you not be frustrated when somebody doesn't listen to you that many times?
Yes of course, you are right. But since they don't profit at all from translation, what do they get from distributing on the internet? Attention? Gratitude from English speakers? Fun?
That is nice but if they want to talk to me about supporting the author, they are the first ones that should keep these translations for themselves, right? I know they purchased the raws and worked on it a lot, and I've defended previous groups lamenting the issues with mangago, but this is the internet, not the bookstore. People steal work from others in every single fucking platform that is open access.
And I know that by viewing on mangago I support a toxic system but so do they! IF you want to support the author in realistic kind of way, of course don't read it online for free, but also do not translate their work in their place and distribute it on the internet where there is *never* respect for others

oh okay so don't read the scanlator team's work and bash them if you think they should keep it to themselves. scanlator teams typically do not distribute their works on mangago where they have no power to take down. They typically do it on their own site or mangagdex, they have power to take down the work when it is licensed. If you go to this scanlator's site they locked the new chapter where you can unlock it by submitting screen shots of purchase of the chapter supporting azuma sensei. they are trying to get azuma sensei his/her income for their work. People upload it on mangago against the scanlator group's will. they are not looking for gratitude or whatever you think they want. if they did they would have just posted to mangago from the beginning. they just want to allow readers to be able to enjoy the work even if they don't speak Japanese while having those people support the author. they are not trying to have a third party site to make money off of work that isn't theirs (mangago).

Also, I know that they've put up this system to buy the raws and support the author, but then again, they translated 9/10 of this shit, why not translate the first chapter and then asking to verify yourself and unlock the other four chapters? That I would have understood.
But the half of the last chapter? You think I'm gonna buy this volume for half a chapter? They have already compromised the income of the author by doing this, so yes I'm pissed that they preach to us to go and do the right thing when no on here did the right thing.
Also on a moral scale, both the reader and the scanalators are guilty, but on a legal scale they are the ones doing the illegal shit. What they are doing to the author is called "damage not quantifiable in the abstract" and is a crime, even without lucrative intent. We readers, as long as we do not download this stuff and distribute it, but just view it, are more or less blameless legally speaking.
So then again, don't come preaching about rightfulness when you are in the wrong.
On another note, if we wanted to shed a positive light to this, they did stress a lot about buying the raws and I'm sure someone did buy them at some point, sending revenue to the author. So good for them, they did a good thing as readers, no doubt.
