I guess according to Chinese censors that is what BL should be. Fans: NOT!!!!! But this interview thing made me so happy. What I have been so curious about is why DJun would write the very dark story of their other manhua, I'll Be Waiting For You in 1999. I find it very hard to read and I am very saddened by all the bullies and the bad behavior of many adults in this story. There has to be a reason why it was written this way, I am so curious what that is.

I can't figure out how to order since I can't read Japanese, but maybe some one can buy this, its so cute.

First we find out Chinese censors or trolling weibo and other places for kissing scenes and plucking them out or censoring them, and there is a message on twitter from DJun about this explaining the censorship. But now DJun says more kissing scenes are coming? I can't be the only one that is confused. I want to hope. But I also would like to understand the situation. It will be a long week to wait and I am sad.

There has to be some loophole Djun is using. I mean, Twitter itself is literally banned in China but the man uses a different VPN to use it LOOOOL. I feel like he has the mentality that's like, "fuck it, ima do whatever I want" but he can't draw legit blatantly homosexual romance. He has to disguise it.

I'm just guessing, but maybe we'll have more things at Lofter: http://djuneram.lofter.com/

OMG it looks like Here U Are is on Chinese Webtoons. Imagine if it was on webtoons worldwide! What is this Lofter? Is it a Chinese site that is probably open to censors like Weibo?

Lofter is very much like Tumblr, I used to read the Chinese versions for Korean Manhwas there. It has a lot of fanworks, localization for foreign material and things like that. I don't know about the reach of censorship in that platform, but even things like BJ Alex are published and nobody bats an eye about it.

But I am wondering if it has a connection to English language Webtoons since the layout is exactly the same. We could all write in support of adding Here U Are to English language webtoons if this is the case. And it looks like a featured webtoon which would be bringing so many viewers to it. It really could be a big deal! I read webtoons and they don't like graphic stuff and will censor graphic yaoi content but for shounen ai it could work unless it is further censored according to Chinese policies.

BJ Alex is on there? In China? That title has waaaaay more sexy content than DJun is likely to give us. That is cool to read. Tumblr tends to have more explicit content and fan art than some other platforms.

    Cappy September 20, 2018 12:55 pm

Oh, no no no... Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant that BJ Alex is in China as an unofficial chinese version. Just like our regular scanlations here In China you can find pretty much anything, despite the laws regarding the number of foreign material allowed to enter officially in the Chinese market.
BJ Alex being published in China through official channels is still too far from reality. Not without a lot of censorship happening

This person's low self esteem is disturbing to me. The comedy effect in the story is great but as a character, imagining this person in real life, all I can say is they have issues. But I love love love this author and this story and its cool that it has occasional updates!

carol_L September 13, 2018 1:48 am

If you read DJun's other manga "I will be waiting for you in 1999" it is also full of such sadness. I applaud DJun for tackling difficult subjects with realism but we do need joy as well!

Wondering what that is... is it a fashion I have never seen this before.

    Pastel Prince August 29, 2018 8:53 pm

haha, it's actually a fashion trend that's been around for quite a while already. i guess you could say it's more of an ulzzang/harajuku kind of style.

    carol_L August 29, 2018 9:41 pm

Thank you I found some cool images best assortment here https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32796931624.html YuYang would look cool in the one at the bottom that is white with what looks like cartoons or graffiti on it. I have not seen this in the U.S. yet.

Also thank you for including the words ulzzang and harajuku, I just read about the fashion trends in Korea and Japan. Very interesting, I like finding out info like this.

By a different author entirely. Shoko Hidaka's Hana wa Saku Ka. Also an age difference with the older man being drawn light haired (Sakurai, I really loved that character!), he was so serious about his work and worked at home like Asahi. The artwork is beautiful for both. The younger man is very different betwn these stories though. I might just miss that story a lot.

    Lily August 29, 2018 9:35 pm

Hana wa saku ka is AMAZING

Its very long and a slow burn, more shounen ai than graphic but the story is so worth reading and the art is really beautiful

Yeah being that it was 30+ chapters I was like I'll save that for after I finish reading updates. I don't mind a slow burn as long as it's worth it in the end.

carol_L August 21, 2018 3:20 pm

There is a line of Chinese. Can anyone translate it?

    YAOIanimeGIRL August 21, 2018 4:10 pm

It was already translated in the manga. Try rereading it if you missed it

    Cappy August 22, 2018 3:28 am

    Hi, Carol!
The last bubble speech is YuYang replying to his mom "Okay, I'll be there Friday night."

    carol_L August 22, 2018 3:16 pm

No, Cappy, this is from last week, Chapter 47, its the text after the image of the person hiding behind the wall with their feet showing.

    Cappy August 22, 2018 10:59 pm

Oh, I guess you mean the * thing.
It's just a warning, that reads something like "Unauthorized republishers will be prosecuted".

With both a gag and a blindfold how could Chanwoo tell MD that it was too much? S & M isn't about hurting someone mercilessly it is something done between 2 willing people, isn't it?

    Fujoshi2Deep August 6, 2018 1:33 am

yes , definitely . If people want to participate in s&m in real life they should ALWAYS have a safe word for communicative purposes . If there's gagging involved they should have a signal such as a tap or something .

But i think for the story's sake, the author didn't delve too much into that . Also, the "abusive" sort of s&m seems to be what's mutual for both parties. Though I do agree, doing things like that before consenting could lead to unfixable damage. but the author kind of tied the knot in the end, in a sort of consent.

    Time August 6, 2018 1:40 am

BDSM is about conset yes, but even when gaged there are ways to say no. I've been gagged, blindfolded and tied up, and my partner at the time told me to say "ah. ah. ah." clearly and distingtivlly three times in a row and repeat that if things got too much and he would listen for that and stop if I said it. Even when you're gaged you can still make noise. Actually, you can still speak, but the words to be muffled.
And in this instant I'm assuming MD told Chanwoo something similar since I'm assuming he's experienced in SM play.
Although, this might not apply to yaoi since it tends to have a rather... bad take of bdsm in general. But for this manga in particular, I can hope this is how it played out.

right , i totally forgot that they had already done some BDSM play . Which , we could assume ourselves that they already agreed on a safe word
