I read fifty shades of grey when I was 13-14. And I always thought something was amiss because while I enjoyed the story, really liked it in fact, but something was still off putting about it all. Might also be the fact that 50 shades of Grey is poor representation of bdsm in general. Anyone serious in the community thinks poorly of 50 shades bc it does nothing but reinforce negative stereotypes.
